Police were called to Cromwell Road in Salford after shots were fired at a barber shop.
Officers closed off the street at 8pm on Saturday 6 February after receiving reports of shots fired.
Reports suggest witnesses heard four distinct gunshots shortly before 8pm.
Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed that only two shots were fired at Aras barber shop.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said, “Following interviews with local residents, we can confirm that two shots were fired.”
“Two offenders were seen leaving the scene on foot but descriptions of suspects at the moment are unavailable.”
“Due to the number of conflicting reports we cannot confirm what direction the offenders approached or fled.”
“The window to the business premises involved was damaged.”
“At this time we are not linking this incident to any other firearms incidents in the area.”
