Six Salford arrests in murder probe after Sebastian Zuchlinkski hacked to death in the street


Two men have been arrested in Salford on suspicion of murder today after a man was stabbed to death in Bolton.

Four others were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The victim, 39-year-old Sebastian Zuchlinski, was attacked by a gang of masked men, who ran off when witnesses to the brutal stabbing stepped in to help.

He was found with bleeding in the street with multiple stab wounds on Davenport Street in Bolton at around 10pm on Saturday 6 February.

Amateur cage fighter Sebastian suffered machete wounds to his head, shoulder, thigh and hands.

Paramedics attempted to save his life with emergency treatment but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

This morning, Friday 12 February, two men age 27 and 38 were arrested on suspicion of murder at a property in Broughton.

A 21-year-old woman and three other men age 22, 30 and 36 were arrested at the same address on suspicion of aiding an offender.

A 19-year-old woman was also arrested in Farnworth on the same charge.

All remain in custody for questioning.

Mr Zuchlinski was originally from Poland and reportedly moved to Britain 10 years ago.

He was a regular at boxing clubs and gyms across the region and is belived to have worked as a delivery driver.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Crewe of the Greater Manchester Police Major Incident Team said: “Our thoughts remain with Sebastian’s loved ones at this tough time and we have got specially trained officers continuing to provide them with support.

“We have made a number of further arrests in connection with this murder and currently have seven people in custody which brings the total number of arrests to seven.

“I know this is quite a significant number but our investigation very much remains active and I would like to urge anybody with information to please contact the police.”
