A woman has been injured after she went over the handlebars of her pedal bike in Salford.

At 1:13pm police and paramedics were called to Cromwell Road at the junction of Langley Road South to reports of a collision between a car and cyclist.

Greater Manchester Police told SalfordOnline.com ‘Following witness accounts it appears the woman was riding along Cromwell Road when she braked hard, she went over the handlebars and as a result sustained a head injury. She was taken to hospital for treatment.’

Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Road closures were put into place and the woman was given first aid by police officers until the ambulance crew arrived.
