Traffic is only just returning to normal after an earlier smash on the M60 at Junction 13 for Worsley.
One lane was closed on the anti-clockwise carriageway between Junction 15 for the M61 and Junction 13 after a crash between three vehicles.
North West Ambulance were called to the scene and treated one patient.
A woman was taken to Salford Royal hospital with head injuries.
The lane re-opened at around 2.05pm but drivers were left at a standstill.
The Highways Agency is still reporting delays of around 40 minutes while the traffic clears.
