Delays on M60 after six vehicles collide on either side

Police are dealing with two accidents on opposite sides of the M60 near the Trafford Centre.

At around 1.30pm today, Tuesday 12 April four cars collided on the anticlockwise carriageway, near the slip road at Junction 10 for Trafford Park.

Involved in the accident were a silver Volvo estate, a green Skoda Superb, a blue Jaguar X-Type and a black Honda Jazz.

None of the drivers were reported injured.

As of 2.15pm, lane one and the hard shoulder are currently closed.

Shortly after the smash, on the opposite clockwise carriageway at Junction 9 for the Trafford Centre, a black Vauxhall Vectra collided with a white DAF heavy-goods lorry.

The accident blocked the fast lane of the clockwise M60, causing around 20-30 minutes of delays.

Highways England say the delays are ongoing.

Recovery for both accidents is expected to be completed by around 3.30pm.
