Eccles conmen warning after elderly couple duped out of £60


Police in Eccles are asking residents to be vigilant after bogus workmen conned an elderly couple out of £60.

On Wednesday 24 June between 10am and 10.30am, officers were called to an address on Liverpool Road near to Costcutters.

A report of two offenders portraying to be council workers and charged an elderly resident £60 to cut back hedges.

However they left within minutes of starting work.

The description of one offender is a white male, dark receeding hair approx 6ft, 30’s stocky build with a local accent.

The other is a female sat in a silver transit van parked near to the main road at the time.
