Transport police hunt man in connection with indecent assault on Manchester train

British Transport Police have issued the image of a man they believe could have vital information about the indecent assault of a 20-year-old woman on a train bound for Manchester.

At around 4pm on Wednesday, 10 June a man boarded the First TransPennine Express service at Preston station and sat next to his victim.

Despite the woman asking him to stop, he repeatedly touched her and made sexual advances.

The man even asked for her contact details before leaving the train at Deansgate.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Naylor said: “This was an extremely frightening experience for the victim.

“It is vital we speak to the man in the image as we believe he could have important information about what happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference PSUB/B2 of 07/07/2015.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
