The Lowry chairman Sir Rod Aldridge donates £400,000 to Salford arts centre

The chairman of The Lowry on Salford Quays has made a £400,000 donation to the theatre and arts centre to support its community programmes.
Sir Rod Aldridge, who was knighted in 2012 for services to young people, made the private bequest along with his wife Lady Carol Aldridge.

Sir Rod was the founder and chairman of outsourcing giant Capita from its creation in 1984 until his retirement in 2006.
