Police appeal after 25-year-old suffers severe head injuries in five-car crash


A 25-year-old man has suffered serious head injuries in a crash at Strangeways in Manchester.

It’s now thought five cars were involved in the smash, including the victim’s Audi A5, a Ford Focus, a Vauxhall and a BMW Z4.

No-one else was injured but two people were left trapped in their car by the accident.

Major delays after serious smash near Trinity Way

Police were forced to close Cheetham Hill Road in both directions for urgent investigation work after the collision at the junction of New Bridge Street, near Manchester Arena, at around 3.20pm on Wednesday 4 November.

It caused traffic chaos heading into rush hour, with drivers backing up along Trinity Way, Water Street, A57 Regent Road and A6 Chapel Street.

The force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now looking for witnesses to help piece together what happened.
