Recycle and Reward

Does your community group or project want to be in with a chance of winning a reward worth up to £1,000?

Can you help play a part in increasing recycling in Salford?

Salford City Council is launching ‘Recycle and Reward‘ a new scheme to boost recycling rates and reward local good causes.

Each month, the Neighbourhood Teams will choose several ‘good causes’ in each area of Salford. Residents will be able to vote for their preferred good cause. The good causes with the most votes in each area will receive the reward they have asked for – but only if recycling in that area has increased from the month before.

They are currently looking for local charities, social groups, youth groups, residents associations, schools and community groups to sign up to be a ‘good cause’.

If you’d like your group, school or project to be considered, please fill out the form and explain what you would like funding for. It could be anything from new equipment or resources to building repairs, putting on an event or paying for publicity materials.

If your cause is selected we’d like you to push recycling to your members, networks and community, and get everyone to help increase recycling in your area that month and in the future, as well as getting everyone to vote for you!

Recycling is vital because we can’t keep burying waste in the ground. Every tonne we can divert from landfill is better for the environment and saves the council money which can be used to support essential public services.
