Grants of up to £10,000 will be available next month for the next funding round for The Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
Community groups who are helping people gain the skills they need to increase their opportunities, improving the health and wellbeing of all age groups, and increasing the number of people in work should apply for the cash.
Salford has four high priority wards that rank in the top 30% most deprived coalfield communities nationally: Little Hulton, Walkden, Pendlebury and Swinton.
Projects in these areas in particular are eligible for funding.
Parts of Wigan, Warrington and Bolton are also eligible, including Farnworth, Leigh, Kearsley and Tyldesley but the full list is available online here.
The Coalfield Community Investment Programme will open to applications on 18 July.
