The Predators remain on course to achieve a trophy winning double because they are still involved in the Manchester FA Youth Cup and after the draw for the semi-finals Beechy will meet Youth Kicks JFC a team from the Tameside Football League on Sunday 19th April.
A determined Under 9’s Tornados outfit made an impressive start in their Supplementary Cup game against AFC Monton Dragons.
After dominating the first fifteen minutes Beechy were fully rewarded with the opening goal from Kayden McClean but AFC Monton replied and somehow scored a soft equaliser.
Monton’s half time team talk appeared to work wonders because they took control of the tie in the second half. The Tornados failed to have any impact on the match and relied heavily on their keeper and Man of the Match Ben Davies who kept the score respectable.
Previously the Under 9’s Tornados played Flixton Panthers away in the Supplementary Cup and were determined to put on a good display. At times United’s passing and movement off the ball was excellent and there were great performances in defence from Lewis Wallis and Jack Fitton.
On target with goals for Beechy were Theo Valentine, Kayden McClean, Adam Wood and Charlie Mulvenna.
During the Easter Weekend no other Junior Section team was in action.
