Port Salford Greenway phase two: Your thoughts wanted

A section of cycleway linking Worsley and Winton with the new Port Salford development is now open for public consultation.

The first phase of the £1m route was completed in June 2015 and unveiled at the Winton Festival.

The 1.5km long, three-metre wide route has opened up impassable paths for cyclists and walkers between Hallsworth Road and Blantyre Street.

Residents and commuters are now able to hop on at Winton Park, New Lane, Stannard Road, Gorton Street and Brookhouse Avenue.

The second phase of the greenway is now open for local residents to view and comment on.

It will start from Granary Lane and Blantyre Street, with access points at Edenfield Lane, Hastings Road and Grosvenor Road.

Draft plans will be on display at Winton and Worsley libraries from Monday 16 to Friday 27 November, with council officers available at Winton on Monday 23 November from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and at Worsley library on Thursday 26 November from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

If approved, it’s hoped the second phase of the Port Salford Greenway will open in spring or summer 2016.
