CCTV: ‘Brazen’ hotel thief caught on camera

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a burglary at a hotel in Manchester.

At around 10.40pm on Friday 7 October 2015, a man pretending to be a guest entered the Radisson Hotel near to Manchester Airport.

He managed to enter a staff-only locker room and force open the doors on two lockers in order to take car keys and around £50 in cash.

The offender then entered an unsecure back office and stole a mobile phone worth around £100.

Having taken all he could, the man left the hotel and walked off towardsthe railway station.

He is described as white, slim build and wearing dark clothing, white trainers, and glasses.

Detective Constable Gary Bell said: “This man was brazen in his actions, wandering calmly into the staff areas and taking anything he could get his hands on.

“Luckily the hotel has excellent CCTV in those areas, and the still images we have of him are of good quality, leading us to believe someone will be able to help us identify him.

“I would ask people to bear in mind that the glasses he is wearing may be an attempt at a disguise.

“If anyone recognises the man in these images, please call police.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
