Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered head injures following a fight in the city centre.
At around 3.15am on Saturday 14 November 2015, police were called to Deansgate Locks on Whitworth Street West to reports that men were fighting.
Officers attended and discovered a 20-year-old man with head injuries, who was slipping in and out of consciousness.
He was initially taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary, where after further examination it became apparent that the man was suffering from a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain.
He was subsequently transferred to Salford Royal Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Detective Sergeant Phil Marsh said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the fight at Deansgate Locks last night to contact us.
“We know that there were a large number of people in the area at the time of the fight, so I am hopeful that there are some people out there who may be able to assist with our inquiries.
