Manchester Airport ‘bomb hoax’: Plane evacuated and two arrested

A plane at Manchester Airport was evacuated today after a passenger claimed to have a bomb in his bag.

Police were called to the airport’s Terminal 1 at 3.30pm Thursday 19 November, after a man in his 4os claimed to have an explosive device in his possession.

Two men aged 45 and 46 were arrested on suspicion of making a bomb hoax.

A spokersperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “The passengers and their baggage are now being subjected to another security screening before they are allowed back on the plane.
