A man has suffered shoulder, leg and head injuries after being hit by a van in Eccles.
Police were called to Brookhouse Avenue at 8.55pm on Thursday to find a man with serious injuries.
He was attended to by paramedics before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
The van, a white Vauxhall Movano, hit the man and left the scene.
The circumstances are still unclear and police are still asking questions to find out what sparked the incident.
Police cordoned off parts of Brookhouse Avenue and Foxhill Road while they investigated the scene.
