To celebrate the launch of the new The Lowry Mall Post Office, Salford and Eccles MP, Rebecca Long-Bailey ‘cut the ribbon’ at an opening ceremony on Friday 11 December 2015.
Local MP Rebecca Long-Bailey said: “I welcomed the news that a Post Office was to open in the Lowry Centre and am delighted to be here today to congratulate Ismail Adam on his hard work and to formally declare the new The Lowry Mall Post Office open.
She added: “The Post Office is vital to the community around Salford and I’m sure the new Post Office, and the long opening hours, will be warmly welcomed by people who live and work locally.”
The new Lowry Mall Post Office branch is being launched at Newspoint, Newspoint Shop, Unit F24A, Salford M50 3AH as part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend opening hours for customers. The service is provided at a combination counter in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the retail till.
The new Post Office service will be available during the store’s opening hours, 10am – 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 10am – 8pm on Thursday and 11am – 5pm on Sunday. This will offer 66 hours of Post Office service a week offering customers more choice of times to visit.
The Postmaster Ismail Adam and who owns Newspoint said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to present the new style branch and I am very pleased to be officially launching it today for the community. I hope our customers like their new Post Office and I’d like to thank the MP Rebecca Long-Bailey for taking time from her busy schedule to come here today. I’d also like to thank the local community for their continued support and use of the branch.”
Richard Hall, Post Office Public Affairs Manager, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents around Salford and I am confident that this new modern Post Office will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
He added: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
