Police have released footage of a burglary in which an apparently intoxicated offender breaks into an office block, swears at the CCTV camera and steals two laptops.
At just after 3am on Saturday 28 November 2015, the offender gained access to a shared office block on King Street in the City Centre.
He is seen to stumble walking up the stairs towards one of the offices in the block, before forcing his way into the office in order to steal the laptops.
Once inside he picked up an Apple Macbook and a Lenovo Laptop, worth together around £800, before leaving the same way that he entered.
The offender is described as white, around 6ft tall and between 20 and 30 years old. He was wearing glasses, a grey and black striped bobble hat, a grey coat, blue jeans and dark shoes.
Inspector Phil Spurgeon said: “We’re all human and we’ve had a chuckle at this footage in the office, but ultimately burglary is a serious matter and we’d like the last laugh to be on the offender.
“To do that we need to deliver some justice for the victim, and that will possibly need the public’s help to identify this man and help us catch him.
“If you know this man, or saw anything in the early hours of the morning on King Street on that date, please call police.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 301115/0598 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
