Local businessman Ged Mason is celebrating an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours.
The Chief Executive of Salford technical recruitment firm Morson Group, Ged was awarded the honour for services to engineering and design.
Speaking to SalfordOnline.com today Mr Mason said he wanted to dedicate the honour to his late father Gerry, who founded Morson Group in 1969.

He commented: “It is an honour to receive this OBE, which I dedicate in the memory of my late father and all those who have supported me throughout my life”.
Ged has been Chief Executive of Morson since January 2005.
He originally joined Morson International in 1986, after gaining international experience with a technical recruitment firm in Canada.
As Chief Executive, Ged has full responsibility for Group strategy and commercial performance along with key staff resourcing strategy and key client liaison.
The Salford-based businessman is a keen supporter of many North West charities, most notably the Seashell Trust, which helps children with multiple learning difficulties.
He is also a Trustee of Eccles-based Destination Florida, which provides respite holidays for seriously ill children and their families.

Morson Group is made up of three main subsidiaries, Morson International, Morson Projects and Vital Human Resources.
It operates from headquarters at Adamson House on Centenary Way in Eccles and now employs more than 800 people in the UK and overseas.
