Girl hit by bus in Manchester escapes serious injury

A girl was hit by a bus in Manchester.

GMP City Centre reported that the woman had been struck by a bus in rush-hour traffic on John Dalton Street.

It happened at around 6pm on Wednesday 6 January.

One eyewitness posted on Facebook: “Never felt so sick in my life sat on the bus and the driver runs someone over! Praying to god she’s ok.”

Another wrote: “Hope the girl who got knocked down at the top of Bridge Street in town will be ok. Only seen the aftermath and it didn’t look nice.”

Police later posted that the girl was conscious and breathing at the scene but had suffered facial injuries.

More traffic delays are expected while police deal with the incident.

Drivers are still suffering long delays across the road network tonight after this morning’s tanker crash chemical spill forced police to close the M60.
