Winton lad has mountain to climb for St Ann’s Hospice

Personal trainer Jordan Lang is getting his gym clients in peak fitness by scaling Mount Snowdon.

There is little chance of them getting lonely, with around two dozen volunteers likely to make the trek in aid of St Ann’s Hospice on Saturday, April 25.

Jordan, aged 26, has organised the walk to Wales’ highest peak with colleagues Simon Parrott and Michael Dutton who run the IntensiFIT gym in Winton, Eccles.

Jordan, from Winton, said: “I’ve always wanted to climb a mountain, it’s something I’ve never done before. Hopefully, this will be a stepping stone to a tougher trip to somewhere like Mount Kilimanjaro in the future.

“Most of those taking part are members of our gym classes but the more the merrier.

“It will be a tough challenge but is achievable for someone who’s generally fit.”

Jordan’s grandmother Margaret Smith helps out at coffee mornings in aid of the hospice at Winton Library so he is already aware of the charity’s work.

He said: “St Ann’s is close to the hearts of a lot of people and as a local business we wanted to keep any donations within the community.”
