Stagecoach to slash cost of Dayrider by 50% for teenagers

Bus operator Stagecoach Manchester has announced it is to halve the cost of its Dayrider tickets for young people age 16-19.

From Saturday 23 January, the cost of the unlimited travel tickets on Stagecoach and Magic buses will be cut to just £2.

But it’s only a one-month deal.

The offer ends on 29 February.

Stagecoach Manchester hopes the offer will also encourage as many young people as possible to start using its bus network.

The discount is 51% compared to current Dayrider ticket prices.

Stagecoach Manchester managing director, Chris Bowles, said: “This is great news for young bus users across the Greater Manchester region. Buses are crucial in connecting young people and in particular helping them to access education and employment opportunities and to get to social events.

“We know family budgets can often be stretched following the Christmas holidays so we are pleased to be able to help people make their money go further by reducing the cost of travel.

“We are already providing very good value discounts for children, students and young people across the region.

“This makes taking the bus even better value for money and we hope lots of young people will take advantage of the offer.”

The young person’s dayrider is available to buy on the bus. Full details can be found at www.stagecoachbus.com
