All three lanes of the clockwise M60 between Junction 12 for Salford and Junction 13 for Worsley were closed this afternoon after a serious accident.
A woman in a silver Nissan Micra was left trapped in her car under a lorry.
Fire crews were dispatched to the clockwise carriageway at 12.45pm on Friday 22 January.
It’s thought up to six fire engines, along with incident support units, were scrambled to the scene.
One woman was extricated from her vehicle and taken by ambulance to Salford Royal hospital.
The extent of her injuries is not yet known.
The hard shoulder, lanes 1, 2 and 3 were closed by traffic police.

As of 2.05pm North West Motorway Police report that all lanes have been re-opened.

Delays are expected throughout the afternoon.
Highways England report that traffic conditions are expected to return to normal by around 4pm today, Friday 22 January.
