Police investigating large-scale drugs production across Greater Manchester made eight arrests after finding a large cannabis farm in Ordsall.
In the early hours of this morning police raided a terraced house on Gurner Avenue.
Crime Scene investigation teams cordoned off the property while they swept the area for evidence.
Fire crews were called to the scene at 9am on Thursday 4 February after police found evidence of a fire that had started in a lamp inside a foil tent on the first floor.
Police said they had discovered “a large number of cannabis plants” from the house, but would not disclose further details.

Officers also raided properties in Salford, Moss Side, south Manchester and Wigan.
Five men aged between 29 and 38 and a 29-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cultivate cannabis and money laundering.
Two other men aged 34 and 39 were also arrested for drug offences.
In a statement Greater Manchester Police said:” As part of an ongoing operation officers from GMP have today, Thursday 4 February, made a number of arrests.
“The arrests were made after a number of warrants were executed in Salford, Moss Side, south Manchester and Wigan.
“A large number of cannabis plants were also recovered from a house in Orsdall.
“Enquiries are ongoing and those arrested remain in custody for questioning.”
