Police are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy died in a collision in Bolton.
Shortly before 2:30am on Thursday 11 February 2016, police were called to Plodder Lane, Bolton to reports that a silver Renault Megane had collided with a tree.
Officers attended and established that four people had been travelling in the car along Plodder Lane before colliding with the tree.
A 17-year-old boy who was travelling as a passenger in the car received fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and his condition is described as serious but stable.
Two men, aged 18 and 19 years have since been arrested.
PC Peter Cunningham of the GMP Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I would like to extend my most sincere condolences to the family of the boy who sadly died in the collision in Bolton this morning. We have currently got specially trained officers providing them with support.
“We are appealing for witnesses to the collision and for any person who saw a silver Renault Megane being driven in that area after 4pm yesterday to please contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.”
