Chorlton stabbing update: 49-year-old woman arrested


A woman has been arrested after a woman was stabbed in Chorlton.

At around 1.05pm on Friday 1st May 2015, police were called to an address on Caldervale Avenue in Chorlton-cum-Hardy following reports that a woman had been stabbed.

Officers attended and found a 35-year-old woman, believed to be from Salford, with stab wounds to her neck and upper body.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Cunliffe said: “I would like to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident and it involved two people who knew each other.

“The victim, whilst traumatised by the attack, is making a good recovery in hospital.

“A quick arrest was made and a 49-year-old woman remains in custody for questioning.”
