North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has launched nwascareers.com – a brand new careers website for budding employees to find out more and apply for various opportunities within the Trust.
To meet the growing demand for talent and following months of preparation, the new website aims to attract prospective employees by explaining the full range of benefits that come with being part of NWAS in an easy, clear and concise way.
The exciting new site breaks down the different roles there are at NWAS, including paramedic and emergency medical technician roles that regularly attract thousands of applicants. Job seekers will also find information on posts that people might not be as familiar with, such as those within the non-emergency patient transport service, NHS 111 and other vital support roles. As the site grows additional positions will be featured, including details of voluntary positions.
To give a true insider perspective, the site features quotes from frontline staff and real life examples of what it’s like to work for NWAS, giving the viewer a greater understanding of what duties different roles have. This will evolve as time goes on to shine the spotlight on more staff members and the important work they do.
The website also has something for current staff as it includes internal vacancies that they can apply for and details some of the courses and development opportunities on offer. These enable team members to grow in their current roles and develop their skills for future positions. NWAS prides itself on supporting staff with their personal and professional progression – something it hopes will set it apart from other NHS organisations.
The benefits that staff can enjoy by being employed by NWAS are also featured within the new site, with information on pay and pensions, as well as staff discounts and offers. It highlights why the North West is such a great place to live and work by looking at each of the five counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire that NWAS serves.
For anyone applying for a role at NWAS, the ‘apply’ page gives very handy advice on how to build a strong application, explaining what the Trust looks for in prospective recruits and what to expect when submitting an application. There is information on there to help set up email alerts, so if people are looking out for a specific role that isn’t currently available they can be notified straight away and won’t miss out.
Michael Forrest, Director of HR and Organisational Development said: “NWAS is a great place to work so it’s fantastic we now have a platform to sell our offer to prospective employees. The new website is a huge leap forward for the trust and I look forward to seeing how it develops.”
