Traffic police and ambulances are dealing with a five-car crash on the M60 at Worsley.
At 7.25am today, Wednesday 2 March, officers were called to the anticlockwise, westbound carriageway between Junction 13 and Junction 14 for the East Lancs Road turn-off.
The smash happened in the outside lane.
Two lanes were initially closed due to the severity of the incident.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed at least one passenger had suffered a head injury in the smash.
He added that there were no life-threatening injuries but paramedics were dealing with a number of casualties.
One lane remains closed and there is queueing traffic around the scene.
As of 7.57am the clear-up is ongoing and delays are expected to continue into this morning’s rush hour.
One lane is also blocked further round on the M60 anticlockwise at Junction 17 for Prestwich because of a broken-down lorry.
First Manchester are also reporting delays of up to an hour with their bus services at a standstill in Walkden today.
