Stephen accepted the role on Friday 26th February, following our event to raise much needed funds for updating the venue and its facilities.

The evening was hosted by Peter Hook and Mike Sweeney, with local band Death to the Strange.

The evening also contained personal messages of support, via video recording, from John Cooper Clarke and Bez.

Stephen is passionate about the local theatre and its place within the Salford Community.

He recently said ‘Our main aim now is to secure the remainder of the funding needed to replace the seating in the 124 capacity theatre’

We are appealing to local businesses to sponsor a seat, which will include a personalised plaque on the back of each seat sponsored.

All money raised will go to improving the theatre, which is a valuable commodity for everyone in Salford and beyond.
