Business Growth Hub appoints Head of Sectors Programme

Ian MacArthur has been appointed as the Business Growth Hub’s Head of Sectors Programme.

Ian has formerly worked at a senior level within public and third-sector organisations and led national policy and delivery across the environmental, health and regeneration sectors. Previous roles include the Groundwork Federation’s North West Regional Director and four years at the World Health Organisation as a Consultant in Environmental Health Management working across Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

In the new position of Head of Sectors Programme at the Business Growth Hub, part of the Manchester Growth Company (MGC), Ian will manage the programme offering sector development and specialist support to SMEs. This will cover the digital and creative, life sciences, advanced materials and manufacturing, and the low carbon environmental goods and services sectors. His appointment reflects the Business Growth Hub’s focus on growth in these key areas to boost Greater Manchester’s economy.

Ian MacArthur, Head of Sectors Programme, said: “Greater Manchester is seeing growth across a number of exciting industries. The Sectors Programme has been developed to provide specialist support to help SMEs either grow or diversify within their field of expertise. I am delighted to join the Business Growth Hub as the firm continues to make great strides in supporting entrepreneurial businesses.”

Richard Jeffery, Director of the Business Growth Hub, said: “Our new programme has been developed as a response to the growing marketing demand for sector specific business support. We’re thrilled that Ian has come on board, his experience and network in this area is a fantastic asset to the programme and we look forward to seeing how the projects underway develop.”
