A burglar who hung around a Cadishead company stole broken tablet computers and a £60 petty cash jar, the business owners say.
Water treatment firm Primary Water Group was raided by a lone man in the early hours of Easter Monday.
The thief was spotted on CCTV wearing a hi-vis jacket and visting the offices five times between 1pm and 5pm the day before.
He later returned to the Lord’s Street office building at 5am on Monday 28 March, taking cash and tablets used by engineers.
But in his rush to escape he left a grey woollen hat at the scene.
He was also caught on security cameras entering and leaving the yard.
Police forensics teams also found blood on window glass smashed and dotted around the office.
“Our offices were broken into by this cretin,” company director Ray Davies told SalfordOnline.com.
“Most of our guys turn up in high-vis as we have around 20 employees.
“He was spotted loitering on Lord’s Street the day before, and we assume he broke the window on the Sunday as he ran off around 5pm not to return until 5am Monday morning.
“The thief didn’t get away with much, but that’s not the point.
“We are upgrading our security but it’s a cost we shouldn’t have to bear.
“He stole four engineers’ tablet computers, two of which were faulty, along with a money jar with less than £70 in, so it’s not the best robbery.”
