Eccles carer wins SalfordOnline tickets to Man City v PSG Champions League second leg

The competition is closed and the results are in: Man City season ticket holder David Woods has won the latest SalfordOnline.com Champions League ticket draw.

David’s name was plucked out of SalfordOnline.com’s fabled lucky hat this afternoon.

Now he and his family have four tickets to see the epic return leg of the Champions League quarter-final between Manchester City and Paris-Saint Germain.

David, who is in semi-retirement to be a full-time carer for his his father, said the family were dyed in the wool Blues but couldn’t afford Champions League prices, so the competition win came at the perfect time.

The tie is on a knife edge after last week’s 2-2 draw in the French capital.

And with penalty-missing striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic vowing to knock City out of the Champions League, the stage is set for a stellar match-up at the Etihad stadium.

David and his wife Julie, who jokingly say they live in “the cheap end” of Ellesmere Park, will likely take along two young City fans they know through Julie’s former job as a childminder.

“I was a rugby man before I met my wife, we’ve been married 38 years so I’ve been a City fan for 38 years!” David says.

And his score prediction?

“It doesn’t matter – because of our two away goals in the last leg, as long as we score first it’s game over, we’ll put it in lockdown from there.”

So congratulations to David and Julie, and don’t worry if you didn’t win, there’ll be plenty more competitions coming up soon on SalfordOnline.com.

Kick off is at 7.45pm on Tuesday 12 April and the match will be broadcast live on BT Sport.
