Drivers are experiencing delays heading into Friday night’s rush-hour after three cars collided on the M60.
Police were forced to close one lane of the clockwise carriageway between Junction 11 for Eccles/Irlam and Junction 12 for the M62/M602 interchange.
When the crash happened at around 4pm on Friday all three cars were stuck in the outside lane with debris scattered across the motorway.
No-one was seriously injured.
There are tailbacks all the way back to Junction 8 for Stretford.
Surrounding roads are starting to get heavier as people come off the motorway trying to find alternative routes.
But traffic is still very heavy in and around the crash site.
Highways England North West say drivers should expect around 20-40 minutes of delays above and beyond the normal waits in rush-hour.
Recovery vans are now on scene and delays are expected until around 6pm.
