Morson Group raises funds for The British Heart Foundation

Morson Group are excited to introduce Morfit, a Health and Wellbeing programme which supports the physical, emotional, financial, social and work aspects of the lives of Morson employees and contractors.

During March, employees were challenged to take part in the British Heart Foundation’s Dechox initiative, a campaign which saw over 80 Morson employees give up chocolate for one month. As an added incentive, fruit baskets were delivered to the offices at Morson, giving individuals the chance to replace a chocolate treat with a healthy alternative.

Those taking part in the Dechox challenge gained sponsorship from family, friends and colleagues and a total of £500 was raised for The British Heart Foundation.

Michelle Bailey, British Heart Foundation Manager for Greater Manchester
said: “We are delighted that Morson Group has raised such an incredible amount for our fight against heart disease. Raising £500 through Dechox, this money will help transform the lives of people who are fighting a daily battle with cardiovascular disease. It’s only through the likes of the people from Morson Group that we can continue our lifesaving research.”

Ryan Gelder, Morson International Administrator said: “I found giving up chocolate for the month of March really challenging. I eat a lot of chocolate and wanted to make a change so by taking part in the Dechox challenge I started replacing chocolate with fruit. I would definitely take part in the Dechox initiative again!”

As part of the Morfit initiative a range of exercise classes including Body Conditioning, Legs, Bums and Tums and Circuit training are being offered complimentary to Morson employees. In addition to this, Morfit Champions have volunteered to organise activities and events to encourage other employees from across the Group to get active.

Becki Ross, Head of HR at Morson Group said: “Morfit is a great way of encouraging individuals to make a change to the way they live and make a commitment to their health and wellbeing.”
