Salford student Jennifer is top of the class

Salford City Academy student Jennifer McPhee showed she had it all figured with success in the UK Maths Challenge.

Run by the UK Mathematics Trust, the competition sought to find those students with a talent for numbers, with Year 9 student Jennifer taking the ‘Best in School’ title at the academy.

Now Jennifer and her friend Precious Tunde-Olaitan have been invited to a special ‘Maths Day’ at Liverpool University, along with fellow winners from all those other schools taking part.

Commenting on Jennifer’s success, Salford City Academy’s Head of Maths Andrew Wexler said:

“This is a fantastic achievement and Jennifer is our first student to have been invited to attend a UK Maths Challenge winners’ workshop. We’re very proud of her.”
