Little Hulton Reds travelled to Culcheth with both sides on a high after big wins the previous week.
The game was like a heavyweight boxing match with both sides trying to gain the ascendancy.
Little Hulton were first to cross the whitewash when Foster sent a huge pass to left winger Knight to run in unopposed only for referee to judge the pass forward.
The Reds’ pack were now on top, with Sackfield and Schofield punching holes in the Culcheth defence giving Hessian at acting half-back fast ball play.
This was the beginning of the end for Culcheth as after 25 mins Little Hulton were winning the arm wrestle.
Jones, Foster and Hessian were now calling the shots, with Jones sending his forwards punching down the right.
Big Mike Sherwin honed his center play taking out the Culcheth wing and center to release Knight on the left. He raced in – despite the Culcheth full back trying to knock his head off – to leave Macdough with an easy conversion.
Frustration mounted for the home side and when their hooker was sinbinned it was a sign for the Reds to kick on.
With Little Hulton now in control of the territory Macdough sent a cross-field kick to the left and there was Knight again to collect the ball racing past the bemused defenders with Macdonaugh adding the extras.
Mike Sherwin picked up the final score of the half attacking the Culcheth right; he used Knight as a foil to cut inside and spectacularly dive in with Macdough maintaining his 100% kicking record to add the extras and give Little Hulton an 18-4 lead.
The Reds were rampant and Foster sent another missed pass out to debutant Roden who raced in wide on the right this time.
Just after the break Little Hulton got a little sloppy allowing the Warrington side’s full back to bounce off several tackles and score under the posts.
That was as good as it got for Culcheth as Little Hulton tightened up and applied the pressure.
It was no surprise when Knight completed his second hat trick in two weeks.
Jones was next on score sheet after bemusing the Culcheth defence for much of the game with his depth passes and offloads, throwing a dummy to leave himself a gap to power over.
Sackfield then got into the act after an impressive game in second row, breaking through the now-tiring Culcheth line to score under the posts.
The final act of the game again came from a clever crossfield kick from Macdonaugh, Hargreaves jumping against his opposition winger on the left to collect the ball and take the Culcheth winger over with him.
It left the final score at Little Hulton 44, Culcheth 10.
Man of the match went to the strong-running Kenny Sackfield.
