A man who viciously assaulted a woman in Swinton in August last year has been jailed for just over two years.
George Roberts, 29, from Oldham, was arrested after police discovered he had carried out a serious attack on his then-partner.
Swinton police were called to the address after a distressed 999 call.
The court hear that Roberts had beaten and stamped on his partner, breaking her collar bone.
He was arrested the same day and later charged with causing grievous bodily harm/wounding with intent (Section 18 assault).
At Manchester Crown court on Monday 23 May he was sentenced to 25 months in jail.
He was also ordered to pay a £120 to his victim and under a new restraining order was banned indefinitely from making contact with the victim by phone, text, letter or social media.
