Police called to ‘strike’ protest outside Soapworks offices in Ordsall


Police were called to a protest by outside the Soapworks office buildings on Ordsall Lane in Salford at 7.15am this morning.

Officers received reports of a group of 15 men ‘striking’ and not allowing workers to enter the premises.

The protesters blocked both sides of Ordsall Lane, causing rush-hour traffic delays in both directions on Ordsall Lane, for drivers heading towards Regent Road, and Trafford Road/Salford Quays.

Greater Manchester Police said the protest was ‘peaceful’ and no arrests were made.
