A body has been discovered in the water at Salford Quays this morning.
Police divers, fire crews and ambulances were called to The Quays at 7.40am on Thursday 7 July to reports of an unidentified body in the canal.
It is understood the body was found at the Erie Bason end of the Mariner’s Canal.
Police are now investigating the circumstances of the man’s death.
Emergency services and officers from the Greater Manchester Police’s Underwater Search Unit are on the scene.
