Drivers are being warned of delays on the M60 at Junction 11 for Eccles after two HGVs collided.
At around 1pm officers from the North West Motorway Police closed lane one clockwise just after the turn-off for Junction 11.
There are not thought to be any serious injuries in the accident.
The lane has now been re-opened after police cleared debris from the carriageway but delays are expected.
