Police are looking for four men thought to have carried out a robbery on a cash-in-transit van this afternoon in Lower Broughton, Salford.
A burned out black Peugeot 308 hatchback with no numberplates has been discovered dumped on nearby Bramley Street, behind Bury New Road in Lower Broughton.
Police put up crime scene tape around the vehicle and were not allowing any pedestrians to pass.
Additional cordons were set up on nearby Tenerife Street where a white box was been dumped at the side of the road.
From 1pm on Wednesday 7 September readers reported a heavy police presence on Bury New Road near the Grosvenor Casino.
One said: “I was coming out of the gym when I saw five cars flying past me.”
A police cordon has been erected around clothing store Tru Trading on Bury New Road with three police units and a crime scene investigation van still on scene.
Also visible from images at the scene is a white cash-in-transit van marked ‘Security Plus Ltd’ within the police cordon.
Police dog units were also out searching for suspects earlier this afternoon.
Officers went door-to-door on local streets asking for witnesses.
