Worsley Day Nursery donates £500 to a very brave little Guy

Best Friends Day Nursery in Worsley has presented a cheque to the family of Guy Ryan to help fund a trip to the USA where the brave six-year old will receive specialist treatment to shrink an aggressive brain tumour.

Guy, who attended the nursery as a baby, has been battling the disease since just before he was one and has since undergone 20 operations and two gruelling cycles of chemotherapy.

Guy’s doctors are now sending him for Proton beam therapy in the USA for nine weeks on Monday 20th July, where he will also be spending his 7th Birthday. Fundraising efforts to enable his family to go over with Guy and support his recovery have been ongoing, with over £8,000 being raised in three months.

Liz Moss, nursery manager: “When Guy attended our nursery he was such a bubbly character to have around and was not shy at all. His story is very close to us, so when we heard about his trip to America we wanted to help as much as we could. I am happy to be able to help donate to such a loving family and to help Guy who is a big part of the local community, to make his trip to America as special as possible. We look forward to seeing him when he is back.”
