A mother has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after her two-year-old son was found by police walking alone in a field wearing only a nappy.
Police were called to the scene, off Crescent Drive in Little Hulton, Salford at 3.30pm today.
Officers went door-to-door making enquiries with local residents after reports that the boy was seen walking alone through the street.
The woman was arrested at around 4.15pm today, police said.
She is now in custody for questioning on suspicion of child neglect.
The toddler is unharmed and is now safe and well.
