Big giveaway as superstar field announced for global Manchester PartyPoker World Pool Masters

With the 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters arriving at the iconic Victoria Warehouse in Manchester from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 August, SalfordOnline.com have a stunning giveaway planned thanks to our friends at PartyPoker.

Matchroom Sport have announced a stellar line-up for the 23rd annual pocket billiards showdown.

Heading the field will be defending champion Shane Van Boening (USA) as well as former champs Darren Appleton of England and Holland’s Niels Feijen, winners in 2009 and 2013 respectively.

Sporting a $20,000 top prize, the Masters brings together some of the biggest names from around the world to contest the game’s most sought-after title.

Making his Masters debut is current World No.1 Carlo Biado of the Philippines and he will be joined by fellow Asian players Ko Pin Yi of Taiwan, the current WPA World 10 Ball champion, and China’s Liu Haitao, the current World No. 6.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to email newsdesk@salfordonline.com with your name, full contact details and the date of the session you’d like to attend.

You’ve got the choice of five sessions across the long weekend: Friday 14 August from 7pm, Saturday 15 August from 1pm, Saturday 15 August from 6pm, Sunday 16 August from 1pm or Sunday 16 August from 6pm.

Scotland’s Jayson Shaw, currently one of the form players, will be competing as will Karl Boyes who closed out 2014 with wins at the World Cup of Pool and the Mosconi Cup. John Morra, who last played as a qualifier in 2010, is back to represent Canada.

2014 runner-up Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) returns, as does Waleed Majid, representing Qatar and the Middle East.

James Georgiadis of Australia, who came so close to upsetting Van Boening last year, is back alongside 2012 runner-up Mateusz Sniegocki of Poland.

Finally, all-time Masters legend Ralf Souquet of Germany makes a welcome return. A big favourite down the years with UK audiences, ‘the Kaiser’ has been crowned Masters champion on no less than six occasions.

Mark Gray, a star of last year’s Mosconi Cup winning European team, has qualified as the fourth British player and South African No.1 Cristopher Tevez will be welcomed to Manchester as the South American No.1.

The players will line up for first-round matches on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and evening, with the winners going through to the quarter-finals on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

The best of the best will compete in the semi-finals on Sunday evening, culminating in the championship final.

The first player to eight frames wins, and as always, the winner breaks.

Tickets are priced at £5 for Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and £10 for the Saturday and Sunday evening sessions. To catch all the 9 ball action there is a great value season ticket taking in all sessions for just £30. Tickets are available here.

The Masters will once again sport a $20,000 top prize, and the event will be produced by Matchroom Sport Television who will be making 15 x 1 hour programmes of the tournament for international syndication.
