Worsley student achieves outstanding A level grades


18 year old Piyush Varma from Worsley is today celebrating after achieving  outstanding A* grades in Maths, Biology and Chemistry whilst studying at Manchester Grammmar School.

Piyush said. “MGS has been instrumental in my success. I was offered a great amount of academic and pastoral support, the teachers really took an interest in me and I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Piyush will study Medicine at Imperial, he chose to pursue a career in the field after volunteering at Warrington Hospital and Manchester Childrens Hospital and a hospital in India.

He continued: “Medicine suits my personality as I know I’ll constantly be challenged and learning. I chose Imperial as it’s a great university and I wanted to live in London.”

Concluded MGS High Master Dr Martin Boulton: “I am so proud and delighted at the achievements of our boys, and that they have secured places at some of the top universities worldwide. Truly, their hard work has been rewarded. I would like to congratulate them, and wish them every success on the next exciting stage in their academic career.”
