Those long summer holidays are over and autumn is drawing in, so here’s five family-friendly things to do in Salford this weekend.

Alice in Wonderland in Eccles – Saturday 5 September – 12pm -5pm
A little girl named Alice falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar creatures. The characters and creatures in the story create a fabulous theme for a summer street carnival parade and community festival in Eccles.
Eccles Town Centre comes alive this September with street acts, a carnival parade, live music, Teenage Market , shopping, festival stalls, tea rituals and a big Cheshire cat grin of comedy and nonsense.
Carnival parade at 2.00pm.
Salford Photos in first showing – Saturday 5 September – 12pm -4pm.
Call in the Ordsall Neighbourhood Centre, Robert Hall Street, Salford to view a staggering collection of never before seen photos of Salford from the 1960’s, well worth a visit.
Eccles Festival Funfair – Sunday 6 September – 8am 9pm.
Visit Eccles Recreational Ground for a day of un that includes a car boot sale starting at 8pm, a funfair and Homeless Hounds Companion dog show. Refreshments will be available all day.
Salford 10k Run – Sunday 6 September – 8am – 2pm.
Salford Quays will be the venue for this years Salford 10k Road Race when hundreds of competitiors will run around a designated course at Salford Quays, cheer on those more healthier than you!
Ordsall Community Allotment Show – Sunday 6 September – 1pm -4pm
Ordsall Community Allotments are having their second annual show this Sunday 6 September at 1pm.
Members are competing for the best vegetables and donating their surplus produce to raise money for the allotments so the public can take some of the produce home with them.
