Police closed a quiet residential street in Swinton on Sunday evening after reports of concern for the welfare of a vulnerable man.
Multiple police and ambulances were called to Westminster Road at around 6.30pm, with officers shutting the road and turning cars back, and cordoning off a section of the street near Swinton Cemetery.
The large police presence caused disquiet in the local community, but Greater Manchester Police today moved to reassure residents that there was no wider threat to the public.
The man, who lives in a terraced property on the street, was assessed by police and put in an ambulance.
No-one else was hurt in the incident.
