Police were called to the residential street at 3.50am on Saturday 28 March, after intial reports of an argument between two estranged partners who had returned from a night out.
Earlier reports in the community of a man who had been stabbed in the chest have not turned up any victims.
Officers trawled through local hospitals in search of the suspected victim, as well as cordoning off nearby Shakespeare Crescent while officers conducted house-to-house enquiries.
