The first ever cohort of learners at St Ambrose Barlow RC Sixth Form College celebrated the successful completion of their two-year course at a special graduation presentation.
The students, who were part of the very first intake at the Sixth Form, returned for a presentation of certificates and awards. Current students joined with staff to congratulate them on their success and to hear more from those who have been there about the opportunities their course can offer them.
The group achieved a 100% pass rate and all students have moved on successfully to University or employment. 60% of students are beginning life at University in a range of fields including Paramedic Science, Sport Rehabilitation, Games Development and Hospitality Management.
Headteacher Ben Davis said: “This is a very proud moment for these students, their families and teachers. It is a major milestone for the school to see our first 6th form cohort complete their courses and achieve to such a high level. These students leave with our very best wishes for an exciting and fulfilling future. Their chosen courses post-sixth form demonstrate the broad and challenging education we offer at St. Ambrose Barlow 6th Form and the way we produce students who are well-qualified to succeed and to make a contribution to their local community. This is a very exciting for our 6th form as it grows to offer more courses with links to the creative industries.”
